new york here i come

So i leave tomorrow night for new york. i am excited. yes i am. however i do have a few concerns. one being i have a project. this one project is separating me from graduating. i am starting it. well trying to tonight. it could be a late night. i may need some caffeine tomorrow. 2 is that i am nervous to be in NYC with 30 japanese students and beign in charge and responisble for them and their passports. this will be a good thing, but i am just afraid something will go wrong. ok try not to worry. i want to go see everythign in the 2 days we are there! especially china town.

Leah's bday was yesterday. happy birthday. shes 20. im old. we had a party at dorcas' place and it was so fun. many people came and we sang along to the songs in willy wonka and the chocolate factory. fun times. before that however, travis and i started our gilmore girls viewing. we are goignt o watch season 3. yesterday and today we watched 3 episodes. yeah for like 21 more. i think thats what we will be doing finals week. as long as i finish this project, i have nothign at all to do finals week, besides pack and wait for my mom.

well its after midnight and i want to get a bit of work done for this project. have a good weekend all.

lots of fun stuff

ok so i will start with this weekend. friday night was fun, what did i do.. hahah umm i went and saw star wars with a bunch of friends. i dont really enjoy the star wars movie thing, however the company was good. the movie wasnt as terrible as i had anticipated. so thats good. then i stayed up late talking to katie, alina and travis and then went to bed. sat i helped put up the flags on college green for intl week. then i was in a parade for the street fair. i held the france flag. haha. i got my picture taken with prez mcdavis and his wife. they are nice. i like em. the street fair was great. so many friends and people from around the world. what a great day we had.

after the street fair.. it was time to get ready.. ready for what? the formal. so michelle and i went to kana's and we spent 2 hours tryign to get ready. this is not easy for some (me) and so i had to take a few breaks and just walk away from the situation. i think i much prefer the sweats look. or even just lookign nice. i dont like trying to look beautiful or whatevcer i am supposed to look like for this kind of event. its just too hard.

the formal was fun. i went with tim and michelle and chris and kana and travis. the guys were very nice and they took us to dinner and then we found out they are all pretty good dancers. I feel like i dont even know tim anymore after seeing his good dance moves. hah hes so good. then if we hadnt danced enough at the formal-we went to casa for latin dance ngiht. it was fun there too. i like it and i wish i had gone to these before the last month of school. i think i knew half of the people there. good times good times.

sunday was work day. i went to church then came back and waited a bit for travis to brin over my computadora. then we went to perks and i did get some stuff accomplisehd. then off tot he dining hall for a quick dinner then a night full off more stuff. i am almost finished with one project. one i have not started. this is not cool.

today i was overwhelmed (probbaly liek you are now reading all this) and i was runnign around like a chicken with my headcut off. it poured today and then it stopped. i have been doing work all evening. and trying to be productive.

now it is time to spend some time reading my bible and praying. then off to bed. lets see if i can wake up and run tomorrow. it never happens. i am a lazy bum in the morning.

6 days of class left! YES! i love that i have no finals. but i still have that darn project....

around the world...

ok so its thursday and i am trying to revise and edit some stuff for my project due next week.. key word-trying- yesterday was a good day.. like usual. class was good.. not too boring. i only have one class a day. teaching was good.. kinda. i love my class and my coteachers. sorry talya for runnign out of there. you see everyone, aroudn the world in gordy hall might be my favorite thing at OU and it just so happened to fall the same night/time as teaching.. it was hard. i was impatient. i wont lie. but eventually talya dismissed me and i ran out of the classroom and wandered all around. it was great i love it. i like food from different places. i learned how to count to 5 in indonesian and i got a pen. i saw a bunch of friends and got my face painted. guess what colors?? thats right. orange and pink-perfectly complementing my orange and pink outfit. then travis came over to put some music on my computer and we ended up hanging out for a real long tiem and i didnt get any homework done last night. oh well. i think travis is cool enough to miss homework for. (most people are probably cooler than my homework)

so this weekend will probably be fun as it is the intl street fair and tim is also coming down.

i guess i will try to do some homework. oh good news.. i actually bought my ticket yesterday for japan. it was on hold. but i jiust went ahead and did it. for those of you wanting to go to japan from the US... you should go to the iace website. there are some good deals.

trying to be productive

so it is 1 am and i am about ready to go to bed. I got some stuff done this evening. i accomplished goignt o latin dance night at casa. thats good stuff. nothing like dancing ont he stage horribly with juan, having french ben-my student- buy me a drink and latin dance with me. random night. but lots of friends were there. i lvoe that. hmm then i came back to the room and got in work mode and revised many a lesson plan and papers that are due next week for linguistics class. i am about halfway done... that means i have another fun evening tomorrow night., whoohooo. yesterday i found out that i am in a japanese newspaper. one of the chubu students from japan wrote an article fro a newspaper in japan and sent a pic with her and i together. so i am now in the newspaper in japan.. i cant even make it in a newspaper in the US not that i would want to be in the post. for such a great journalism school OU has, the newspapers here are dumb. yes dumb. i know this will get a reaction from my one reader but i miss the good old days when tim boggs wrote inthe opinion column.
speaking of opinions.... or not.. my 3rd floor gordy drinking fountain is.... gasp...gone. i am upset. adn thirsty. its 1 am and there are like 223234 people outside yelling. awesome. apparently one of them has a birthday now. happy birthday.

tomorrow is arounf the world in gordy hall. one of my perosnal faves. come 5 or 530 til 7 or 730. come at 6 and youll be safe.

talya is having a letter writing party sunday. come to that. its at her place. write letters to important people and tell them what you think about issues in our world. rock on talya. i think she is rubbing off on me. i hate knowing everyhting i own comes from a sweatshop probbalty. i know my underwear is made in bangledesh. awesome.

ok i am procrastinating. i need to go to bed so i can do homework tomorrow .

10 days of class to go

So today was a good day. I helped set up some flags on college green today and then take them back down again. work was good. class was good. english for all was good. one of my students and his wife were talkign about my trip to japan and asked me if i would be interested in possibly helping teach english in their daughters class or something and get paid to do it. wow. so thats cool i need to work on some details. i went aqua jogging today for a half hour. i like it kinda. the hardeszt part of it is actually getting to the pool. my mom is in swaziland right now building houses for orphans. she is on a missions trip. how rockin is that? i think my mom is pretty cool. well i am goign to attempt to do homework or somethign productive now. i might as well start since its almost 10. i need to get my homework done so i can have a fun weekend! welp i am outta here. peace out man

Fun Weekend

So I am sitting at a group meeting while one of the group members is typing our test. This weekend was really good at retreat. It was fun to really get to hang out with laura and michelle. Yeah for awesome talks, good praise and worship, playing basketball with the boys (and them being nice to me even though I cant make a shot if my life depended on it.) 3 mile runs after midnight, hiking, smelling bad, and being sore and tired. The seniors talked around the fire.. when I got up there.. the only things running through my head were to tell people to wear pink and orange and eat candy-but i ended up imparting my wisdom on making freinds and reaching out to those around the world.
I think allison mcbane rocks becuase she has a polaroid camera.
Lisa Tompson is a funny girl becuase i like her.

although this weekend was great... i have a ton of work to do today... i want to be finished with school. i am tired of doing homework.

sp for those of you who didnt know... i am moving to france in september to teach english in the Aix/marseille area. and august 1-22 I am taking a trip to Japan! I am goign to be a wworld traveler!

So I hopped on the blogspot bandwagon

So today I thought that I would start a blogspot because I am leaving soon and I think this is a pretty practical way for people to keep up to day with the occurrences of my life. so yea... You'll learn i am a terrible typer and i will probbaly spell things wrogn and with many typos.. thats me. so i am leaving for spring fling in a few hours. should be a good weekend. the last one. only 11 days more of class for me and like 30 days till graduation. wow. last night i went to latin dancing with the kids in my dorm. despite my preconceived notions of latin dancing night, i had a blast. yes i am a horrible dancer. but hey hey hey I was a dancing fool last night. Its a good thing my salvation isnt based on my latin dancing skills-or any dancing skills for that matter. yeah for Travis being a good dancer and making me look like I kind of knew what i was doing. Yeah for charles being a horrible dancer and making me look good. hhaha kidding charles...
