another list
things i dont love about japan
(dont get me wrong. i like japan, i just thought it would be interesting to make a list of things that arent my favorite)
10
9
8
7 teaching kids how to pass the Eiken test (basically kids take a test and they want to get to a certain level. Note: this does not mean that they can say anything or understand anything you say)
6 clothes not fitting me right
5 expensive fruit
4 humidity and rainy season
3 pickled plums
2 mosquitos
1 the post office (im probably no.1 on their list too)
ok i quit. so the reason i made this list was because i still have my dads fathers day gift sitting in my room....and i keep putting it off becasue i dont like the post office. but i love my dad, so i should suck it up and go...
tomorrow is another day.
hmm anyways, monday is finished. whoohooo. 4 more days till the weekend.
have a lot of stuff to get accomplished this week.
yesterday was really really really rainy. i rode my bike to the station in the morning to go to church and it was only lightly raining. well a few hours later, it wasnt lightly raining anymore.... it was pouring. so i risked the chance of melting and rode home in the rain. today wasnt rainy. thats good.
the lady at the gym gave me more homemade bread today. yum!
there are 45 days till im back in the US.
and thats about all i have to say!!

hahaha
so one of my students has a small crush on me. i think ive written about him before. well today i walked in to teach his class (and i dont usually teach his class this week) and he looks at me and say in a loud voice for everyone to hear-including my coworker- HI Jen. You are so cute! come in come in! to this i just laughed and told the class that this was their lucky day and i was teaching them for 25 minutes. the same boy said... "yes, i am very lucky." hahah
he's 14.
hahahaha
if only 24+ year old guys would do the same. oh welllllll..........
anyways, tonight the roommate and i went to go do karaoke only to find out place closed...and new prices on the window... goodbye cheap karaoke. i feel like a part of me is gone....how could they do this to me??????
tomorrow im planning to run anywhere from 10-15 miles. i hope its not raining. i really need to get out and run around. i love the mornings running on le chemin tranquil... i like the time to sort out the things running through my head. plus, i have nothing better to do on saturday mornings haha. i know... im lame.
on that note.. im off to bed to get up early tomorrow.

techincal difficulties
my brain is experiencing technical difficulties. yesterday i met my french conversation guy at starbucks. as i was talking to him, my brain didnt know what language it needed to use to order. then after almost 2 hours of talking, we headed out and he needed me to try and help him with some ticket problem. so i ran up to the japanese guy at the station and opened my mouth and i realized my brain had no idea what language was supposeed to come out. but somehow i managed.
fast forward to this morning entering the gym. i gave a big jolly "Good morning" before i realized that i should have said it in japanese. everyone looked at me funny and then i realized what i had just done. so i went to the locker room only to bump into a woman accidentally and what did i say??? "pardon" ---yes, french... then i followed that up with "sorry" then i just shut my mouth.
but on a positive note, i went out to dinner with my roommate and the waiter at the restaurant told me my japanese was good and we carried on a nice little conversation for a few minutes. its times like those that im enocouraged to keep on studying......
on that note... im off to study.
side note: if someone wants to promote birth control, i could loan you a few of my students....

holler
so its been a fun filled few days. starting with the vomiting kid on friday... you know the class.... the one where the kid farted, the one where the kid drew a moustache, the one where all the kids drew their anatomically correct zoo animals... yep.. theyve done it again... the kid puked. but in his defense, it wasnt a lot. just a little from jumping around too much.
friday night i met up with my friend for dinner and karaoke. tanoshikatta!
saturday i went running. then i went and hung out with one of my favorite japanese families. i love the kids. they are so stinkin cute. we did origami, played games forever, ate sushi, talked, played. so much fun. they wanted me to sleep over haha. i love it. little kids crack me up. just watching them and interacting with them is so funny. i think we all need a little
"kid" in us.
sunday i got up, went to church, went to lunch with everyone. then went and played pingpong. i lost... but enjoyed the company a lot. then we went to starbucks to drink the june special of azuki frappuccino. sooooooooooooo ggggggggggooooooooooooooooooooooooooooddddddddddd. fun times of studying japanese and english, hanging out and many laughs. then the 3 of us went to the willie and mimis house for dinner.
now im back. playing scrabble with my mother.
i love being able to see a glimpse of how God is working.
well im out to finish the scrabble game and go to sleep.....

happy.
i love the weekend. i love seeing my friends. i love saturday morning runs under the shady trees and around the city. i appreciate the weekend more so now than before. working full time has really changed the way i view the weeekend. now its one of the things that helps me get through the week. the light at the end of the tunnel.
well i have to start the new tunnel now as its sunday night.
anyways, yesterday i ran about 10 miles. then i met a friend who came to run with me and we did about 1.5 miles walk run. it was nice to have some company besdes my trusty ipod. however at the park while running by myself, i really enjoyed seeing other runners out and about. all of them were older men, but runners have a universal bond. especially us of those crazy enough to be out running for hours at a time. we have that universal connection of having respect for the other and smiling nodding and cheering the other person on each time we pass. its an encouragement.
then i spent the afternoon trying to get to yokkaichi(but i am a late person and couldnt get my act togetehr and get on the trains i needed to get on...so i was late) i met up with some friends for some starbucks, fun conversation, english/japanese study, and dinner. fun times were had by all! ( well at least for me!!)
then i came back and my friend came and spent the night.
this morning i got up early and had fun with my friend. then i got ready and went to church; after church i went to lunch at my favorite place-tiger cafe-then wandered around town and came back. i took a nap and ate dinner and here i am sunday night waiting to play yahoo scrabble with my mom!
