first installment of tokyo pics

the first day, we went to harajuku and walked along takeshita dori. and ate with jim

tokyo marathon....coming right up

yes, my friends. tokyo marathon is this coming sunday. am i ready? not really. am i going to do well? no, probably not. but i am going to try. despite my 2.5 months of training after not exercising for about 6 months before that, i am going to give this my best shot.

friday, hiro i will take the bus up to tokyo. we will meet jim and find some things to keep us entertained. saturday, ill get registered and then spend the day checking out tokyo. sunday, i will be running. this will be my 7th full marathon. wow. monday morning, i will take the shinkansen (bullet train) back home and get to work by 1.

i am so glad there are only 2 more days left of work this week. i am tired of working. i am a little stressed and just worn out. i need a vacation. like a year vacation. or 6 months. but, thats impossible right now. so i will persevere!

at least the weather has been getting warmer. thats a nice change. i am looking forward to spring. cherry blossoms. being outside. not being cold.

study study study

study. i study a lot. even more than i run. well maybe about the same. about 10 hours each week of each. monday-friday i study about 2 hours a night. 1 of those nights, my friend, tomoko, comes over to teach me. i really appreciate her help. i try to be a good student by working hard on the lesson throughout the week and being very prepared when she comes.

we are signing up for a cooking class. once a month for 6 months. starting in april. so exciting. maybe ill learn more since its all in japanese.

next month, i will also be taking a french news conversation class. i took it last spring too. wow.

i will also switch from marathon training to triathlon training as of april.

im happy for a relaxing weekend! only have to get through today!

fast

sometimes the weeks go by so quickly. this week was for the most part uneventful. i studied a lot. worked a lot and ran. same old thing! wednesday i got to eat cake with yayoi for her birthday! then thursday hiro met me after work to hang out for a bit. friday was a busy day. my first 2 classes wore me out! i got really frustrated with my 4th and 5th grade boys. ugh. i would be embarrassed to be their mom. one boy is so rude. ugh. fortunately i don't have many students like that. but it ended being a nice day all in all.

last night i went to bed at 1 and work up at 5:45, out the door at 7 and ran 15 miles. now im going to shower and head out for the weekend. busy times!
