time for a long overdue update

so my life never ceases to be an adventure. last week, tues-thurs, i went to south korea with my boss. we got there tues afternoon and went all around and saw some sites. we went to dinner at this really great place that was a traditional korean house and tried on the korean clothes and ate a ton of food. lots of kimchi. lots of things from the sea. and seaweed. but good. then we got dropped off in town and walked around and went around a night market. then we went back to the new oriental hotel.... keep in mind there is nothing new about this hotel. it was a sketchy little place but served its purpose.

wednesday morning we got up early and took a taxi to the japanese embassy. the whole purpose for this trip was for me to get a visa. so we get there...early.. have to go away for like 30 min and then we come back when it opens and there is noone there. so i got up and give them the paperwork and my passport. they tell me to come back at 3. so we walked all around seoul. we saw the city hall. we saw some palaces and got a tour at one. it was really interesting and saw a ceremony or changing of the guards or something. then we went to a really popular market. it was really cool. but it was booths of shoes, knock off designer bags, seaweed, ginseng, shoes, bags, seaweed, ginseng. but i ended up with new shoes and some ginseng candy-haha.

then we went around to get lunch. my boss decided we should follow people to see where a popular place for koreans is to eat. so we start following people and they keep going into a parking garage or office building. we even stopped poeople and asked them where to eat. finally we followed some more and found a place to eat. it was good but spicy! i think i prefere japanese food to korean food. then we fianlly went back to the embassy at 3, got my visa and then we walked aorund the rest of the afternoon evening. we ae somethign fried on a stick. then we had some meat that they cook in front of you. everyone spoke to me in japanese. noone could speak english. if i wanted to try to ask someone a question, it was better for me to do it in japanese than in english. so i did....kinda...

thursday morning we woke up at the crack of dawn (4:30) and got ready for the bus to come get us at 5ish. then we went to a kimchi factory. and had samples. if you know me well, you know that i like to eat cereal for breakfast. i always eat cereal. my day wont be the same if i eat something different. hha. well i wasnt about to eat spicy kimchi at 5am. so i just said no....

then we got on the plane, came back to japan and then went into work around 3. south korea is only 1 and a half hours from nagoya, so thats pretty cool. maybe ill go again.

friday i worked from 2-9 then i think i was tired so i read and went to bed.. i think. i cant remmeber.

saturday i got up and hung out then at 3 i met my coworker to hang out in the city. i made it there bymyself. thats 3 trains all by myself and i didnt get lost! then we walked around. saw a bus station. went to the australian bar, met some of his english freinds and hung out.

sunday i met kayla in the city and then i came back around 12 and took a nap. then yuki and i went back to the city to meet yayoi. we ate a good dinner and then went to a french cafe and had coffee and dessert. then came back around midnight.

so after a crazy hectic week i was really tired this morning. i work up and just didnt feel like getting up so i slept till 9. i still dont want to be up, but i have to work from 2-9. and i am actually starting to teach today i think.

this week i have to get a bank acct, a cell phone, insurance, internet for the new apt, move and get things for the new place. so i think itll be a really busy week. always lots of things to do!

i missed my 5 year high school class reunion this past weekend. i was a little bummed, but what can you do. maybe ill make it to the 10 year. no promises. like i know where ill be in another 5 years... i dont even know what i am doing tomorrow.

i miss my friends so if you are reading this, just know i miss you.
mes amis francais, vous me manquez bcp! j'espere qu'on peut parler bientot!

ok well i am going to get ready to go to work. but i did take lots of pictures in korea so i will put them up when i move and can use my computer.
