holler

Tuesday
Today I got to go to another part of the Calanques with Ruth Lise and Vero. Ruth Lise swam; it was a little too chilly for me. Then the 3 of us went on a hike. It was an uphill hike. Really good. I really enjoy Vero and Ruth Lise. They are really nice. Then we went back to Ruth Lise’s place and hung out till 7. At 7 we went to meet Olivier and David at an oriental tea house place. It was really awesome. We took off our shoes and we all sat down. We changed our minds like 4 times on where to sit and finally we chose a prime location. We sat on the floor and drank tea and talked for like 3 hours. It was great. I understood maybe 40% but in my defense the music was really loud and they were talking really fast. One of these days I’ll understand…I hope.
We played Action or verité (truth or dare). This was a funny time. Olivier chose Action and he had to jump like a frog 4 times and each time yell Yeep! Hahahah then Ruth Lise chose dare also and she had to dance up the steps to the restaurant part and dance coming back down. I wasn’t so daring so I chose truth. They asked me if I thought French people were crazy. I said…sometimes hahaha.
Finally we came home around 10:30 (they all have to work tomorrow whereas tomorrow is my last day of vacation…ie: I work 2 days then have a 3 days weekend, work 3 days, have a 4 day weekend. Hahah) tomorrow I will have Ruth Lise and Vero over for dinner. I have no idea what I will make.
I am so thankful to have friends now. It was rough at the beginning and it is still difficult because I want to be able to communicate with them better, but it’ll come…I hope. It has been 42 days that I have been here. Wow. And there has been 29 days of strike. The strike continues. Although it’s not bad since I have friends who can drive. Although I do miss the easiness of having a bus.
Charles I am sorry you had to sell your computer. I know how much you loved it.

Today I didn’t have too much to do but I went to the grocery store and ran some other errands. I cleaned a little. Ruth Lise and Vero came over for dinner. They brought me flowers. I made BLTs and potatoes. It was good. We had a good time. Theresa ate with us and then the 3 of us hung out a bit and laughed a lot.

Today I worked. I know you all were very jealous of my 2 week vacation. But you don’t have to be jealous anymore now that I am back to working 12 hours a week… hahha. I was supposed to have 2 classes this morning, but I only had one. It was good. It was with 4 girls. We played scrabble and it was very good. I made them give the definition of the word and use it in a sentence after each turn. And they had to help each other find words before I would help them. Then my second class, no one showed up. I don’t know why. But it was a Muslim holiday or something so they didn’t come to class. Or so I assume. Then I wanted to use the internet but it didn’t work at the school, so I went to Raquel’s to hang out a bit, but she wasn’t there, and I tried to use the internet but it didn’t work there either. So I hung out with American missionaries and then I went to the store to buy a CD so I can continue to save my emails and blogs on a CD to take to a place with internet. Then I walked back home an hour and a half. And ate and watched TV. I also talked with Madame Balletti. Poor Madame Balletti, her sister died a few days ago (she was 90 years old) and it’s been rough for her.

This weekend, I have bible study Friday night and then I am spending the Night at Ruth Lise’s place. Then Saturday, I am tentatively meeting with the Italian and Spanish assistants to do something in the afternoon.
